Parent & Tot
At the South Shore Waldorf School Parent and Tot program, parents accompany their very young children to a morning session at our school. While the children play, their parents/guardians can share their caregiving experiences and ask questions. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn a bit more about Waldorf education, and meet new people. We will enjoy a forest walk, circle-time with seasonal rhymes, songs, puppet stories and lots of free play.
Led this year by our long time Waldorf Kindergarten teacher and puppeteer, Miss Moni, Parent and Tot is on Fridays 10 am-12 pm, at the South Shore Waldorf School, 64 School Road, Blockhouse, B0J 1E0.
Our program is intended for parents and their children who are newborn to 3 years old. Families with young siblings (4 or 5yrs. old) are also welcome. Remember to dress for the weather and bring a snack. Miss Moni will have warm tea for you and a fire built to warm up by. You are also encouraged to bring a blanket or camping chair if you would like to sit on one.
Payment is by donation. Suggested donation $5 per session.
Space is limited, so please register by emailing program leader Miss Moni at: monika.wildemann@waldorfns.org
We look forward to seeing you in the forest!
Program Dates for the Autumn Session:

COVID-19:
The Province of Nova Scotia has announced that starting on Monday, October 4, 2021, people who are 12 and older will need to provide proof of full vaccination to participate in discretionary events and activities that bring groups of people together. Our Parent and Tot Program is a discretionary and recreational program for parents and their very young children. There will be hand sanitizer available and we ask you to sanitize your hands on arrival. We also kindly ask that you observe COVID-19 safety protocol, and, if you or your child are displaying any symptoms related to COVID-19, or have interacted with anyone with symptoms, to please stay home.
Participants are not required to wear masks at this program while outdoors. However, adults are required to wear one if you enter our school building to use the washroom, so please do pack a mask. We will also have some spare masks available.
Cancellations:
We follow SSRCE storm cancellations. We recommended that you check your email before heading to the program on Friday mornings, in case it is cancelled due to staff illness or severe weather. The program will be cancelled if schools are closed due to a storm day.
We look forward to seeing you in the forest!
